Privacy Policy

Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how the Daily Email Digest application (“the App”) collects, uses, and protects information. The App is a personal productivity tool that generates a daily summary of the owner’s email inbox and calendar.

Data We Collect

When you authorize the App with your Google account, the App accesses:

  • Gmail messages: message metadata (sender, subject, timestamps) and message content (body text) for messages currently in your Inbox.
  • Google Calendar events: event summaries, start/end times, and locations for events on the current day.

The App uses read-only Google API scopes only:

  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.readonly
  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.readonly

The App never sends, modifies, deletes, marks-as-read, or changes labels on any email or calendar event.

How We Use Data

The data is used solely to produce a private daily digest for you, including:

  • Summarizing business emails and identifying items that need your attention.
  • Listing your calendar events for the day.
  • Listing personal email titles.

Where Data Is Processed and Stored

  • All email and calendar content is processed locally on your own device using local language models. No email or calendar content is sent to any third-party cloud service or external AI provider.
  • Temporary analysis results (summaries, not raw message bodies) are stored in a local database on your device.
  • OAuth tokens are stored locally on your device only.

Data Sharing

The App does not sell, rent, trade, or share your data with any third party. Data is used exclusively for your own digest.

Data Retention and Deletion

  • Summary cache is retained locally only while the corresponding messages remain relevant to your Inbox.
  • You may revoke the App’s access to your Google data at any time via your Google Account settings (Google Account → Security → Third-party apps with account access). Once access is revoked, the App can no longer read your data.
  • You may also delete the local database and tokens at any time.

Security

Access tokens are stored locally with restricted file permissions on your device. Communication with Google APIs is encrypted (HTTPS).

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available at this URL.
